I got to go home last weekend!  I stayed here at GU for Easter because Mom and Dad were in Florida, plus this weekend was much closer to Maggie's birthday.  Will and I had a long drive both ways...we had to stop several times to shake the sleepies out and we listened to LOTS of music.  Mike Burbiglia, a stand up comedian, definitely kept us up for a while...Cracker Please!

School is getting ready to be intense...I have a lot of big projects and papers due, so I'm going to have to figure out a schedule of when things can be done...I'm hoping that it won't be too stressful!  On the happy note, Manda and I are going to room together on Shalom next year.  Its going ot be absolutely amazing!

Here's a random pic from the international young adult event...it was awesome!

Spring Break!

I know that it may sounds lame to some, but I am having so much fun at World Conference this week!  I think I am my father's daughter...it takes me a long, long time to get anywhere there because I stop and talk to everyone!  Its been so great to see people that I haven't seen in a long time...I've missed many of them greatly.  And my connections from being a Graceland Rep have given me more chances to know church people and be introduced to even more!

Sitting in the auditorium the night that Steve gave the new revelation was amazing.  I looked around and the place was filled, nearly to the brim, with people who had their hearts turned to God, sharing together in that wonderful spirit that fills that room.  It was overwhelming, especially when we sang hymns.  After Steve finished, he looked exhausted.  I admire him...he is such a humble man who loves the church dearly...he put all of himself into this.

Seeing people from around the world who belong to the same church that I do gives me great hope.  All of us that can coming together brings me such joy, and I really hope that I can continue to come to these gatherings and be filled.

I AM ENGAGED!!! :)

I finally had my candle passing last thursday, and now i can tell the world!  :)  daniel proposed on january 1st in the most simple, wonderful, completely us way...it was perfect!  we're really excited for the next year and a bit...we're hoping to get married in southern illinois next summer!  if you want to know more about the story, i'd be glad to share.  :)

love you all!

EDIT:

Here's the story for all of you who seem to chomping at the bit!  :)

When I stay at Daniel's house, whoever wakes up first comes in to wake up the other and snuggle for a bit.  On the first Daniel came in to my room.  I got up and went to the bathroom, came back and got back into bed.  Daniel said "what are you doing?" and I said "I just want to snuggle for a bit."  He was like...whatever...  -trying to be sneaky-  Then he started saying nice things, but I didn't think anything of it because he says nice things all of the time!  He started talking about how he loved the mundane and simple things about our relationship like snuggling in the morning.  He told me that he was really excited to wake up every morning next to me for the rest of our lives.  I didn't have my glasses on, or contacts in, so I couldn't really see much, but I saw him raise his hand up and then he said "Will you marry me?"  I shreaked out a YES! and then asked if I could put it on...it was the most perfect proposal ever!  :)

home from honduras...

well...i'm home from honduras and from illinois...semester is about to start!  i haven't quite decided how i feel about that yet, but it does feel good to be back.  i'm beginning to realize (in the few hours that i've been here) that my friendships with people will be clarified even more this semester...hard stuff, but i suppose its necessary.

honduras was once again a life altering experience...too great to put into words really!  i'll have the pictures up on facebook in a few days, so if you'd like to see, just head there.  :)  after i got back to the states, stephen lloyd, kali smyser, myself and daniel headed to my house for a couple of days of rest and laughter...and boy did we laugh!  it was awesome!  it was great to see my family again and share them with my friends.  :)  we also had a surprise birthday party for mom and dad at church (they turn 50 here shortly).  it was great to see everyone again.

all in all, i'm still processing the past month...its been great and hard and wonderful all at once...i'll write more later!  love you all!

wow...homecoming week was a blur!  whether it was 12 to 2:30 am airband practice, the actual show, or eating way too many marshmallows and drinking way too much syrup, it was a blast.  i'm so glad that aaron is my brother house...they were phenomenal!  the best one i've ever had without a doubt. :)  i'm glad that i gained so many new friends during practices and such too.  :) all around it was a good experience.  but...i'm drained!  i took a four hour nap today, and i'm still so sleepy!  :)  i'm off to take care of that...love you all!
